Nebraska Labor Availability Studies
"Labor availability" describes how many people within a given area are available and willing to take on a new job. The Nebraska Departments of Economic Development and Labor and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Bureau of Business Research and Bureau of Sociological Research have collaborated on this research project designed to measure local labor availability and the needs of businesses in selected regions of Nebraska.
The resulting area reports include a Labor Availability Report based on data received from individuals, a Hiring and Training Needs report based on data received from employers, and a Skills Gap Report produced by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Bureau of Business Research.

Nebraska Statewide Benefits Report
In the Fall and Winter of 2020, the Nebraska Department of Labor compiled survey data collected from households and businesses across the state. The Nebraska Statewide Benefits Report data set consists of over 1,200 business establishments in 76 counties, covering 98.7% of the population, and over 1,400 individuals in 81 counties, covering 99.3% of the state’s total population.

Statewide COVID Impacts and Teleworking Report
In the Fall of 2020, the Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) conducted studies to measure impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and the labor force statewide. Results were collected from 1,263 business establishments and 1,488 households across the state.

COVID-19 Impact on Nebraska Unemployment Insurance Claims
A review of unemployment insurance claims during the COVID-19 pandemic. This provides details on Initial and continued claims from March 2020 to March 2021. This report has total UI numbers since the pandemic onset, payment totals, weeks paid, demographics by continued weeks claimed and a break down of claims by occupation and industry.
